Liz
Halliday returns to the mic this weekend as she once again joins the
Motors TV commentary team for the ‘High Speed Television’ channel’s
live coverage of the Le Mans Series.
Round 5 of the championship heads to
Silverstone, as the European stage of the 2007 season comes to a close
and, having made her Motors TV commentary debut during last month’s Spa
1000kms, Liz will again provide expert analysis and comment on the
six-hour race alongside Mark Cole, John Hindhaugh and former BTCC
race-winner David Leslie.
The
dual sportswoman currently remains sidelined from racing as she
recovers from a broken collarbone sustained in a fall from her horse,
Fox, during a three-day event in July.
Whilst she would have liked to have
been behind the wheel at the home of British Motorsport this weekend,
the California-born, British-based Halliday is delighted to be involved
with Motors TV once more.
“I’ve lived in the UK for so long now that I guess Silverstone would have been my home race!” Liz said.
“While I’m obviously disappointed that the injury will prevent me from
driving there, it’s great to still be involved in this way.”
“I enjoyed working with both Mark Cole
and Carlton Kirby during the Spa 1000kms and am looking forward to
teaming up with Mark again, and also working with John and David this
weekend. I know John very well and have commentated alongside him
before in the American Le Mans Series, and it will be great to work
with David. His record as a racing driver speaks for itself and he’s
also got a lot of experience behind the microphone. I think the four of
us will make a good team.”
Halliday is making good progress
following the break which required surgery to pin the bone in place.
She now has full movement in the arm, but faces a second operation to
remove the pin and is currently still restricted from riding or racing.

addition to our commentary team during the Spa 1000kms race last month.
We’re delighted that she’ll again be part of the coverage from the UK’s
round of Le Mans Series, although we wish her a quick recover from
injury so she can get back into the drivers-seat soon!”
