A chance to sample the unique handling and performance of Australia’s
newest sports car model, the Skelta G-Force, will present itself over
coming weeks as owner/designer Ray Vandersee coordinates a Skelta
roadshow through Adelaide and Melbourne.
Hot on the heels of Tony Longhurst’s second placed finish at the
QUIT Targa West tarmac rally event in Perth, Vandersee is taking the
Skelta on the road in the hope of strengthening the overall exposure of
his self designed and produced vehicle.
The Toowoomba entrepreneur appreciates that in order for the
popularity of his performance based vehicle to intensify potential
purchasers will need to sample what the car has to offer, whether it’s
to be used as a road registered proposition or specialist tarmac rally
or track competition vehicle.
“On the strength of Tony’s solid effort in Perth and a highly
successful ride/drive day immediately after the event, we see great
merit in showcasing the car to a greater proportion of the East Coast
on our way home to Queensland,” said Vandersee.
“We were literally run off our feet coordinating drives and rides
in Perth and interest was evenly shared between the road registered
vehicle and actual competition spec Skelta.
“We’re looking at being in Adelaide this weekend and will coordinate an appropriate venue upon our arrival.
“At this stage among the Adelaide Hills where various stages of the
Classic Adelaide tarmac rally event are coordinated looks a likely
spot.
“From there a further opportunity to road test the Skelta will
present itself in Melbourne where we’re sure anyone with an interest in
high quality motoring will want to get behind the wheel of a Skelta.”
The Skelta G-Force is being produced for sale in both race-ready
and road going forms out of Vandersee’s Toowoomba workshop on
Queensland’s Darling Downs.
So far two drive/ride days have been coordinated in Queensland and Perth and both have proved extremely popular.
Vandersee is looking forward, in the not too distant future, to
having more than one Skelta competing at Tarmac events and these
ride/drive days are all a part of increasing participation under the
Skelta banner.
The Skelta G-Force has now placed three times on the podium of
major tarmac rally events in the past 12 months, collecting second at
Dunlop Targa New Zealand late last year before securing a magnificent
win during the inaugural Aeromil Pacific Suncoast Classic in Queensland
in July.
“Taken all into perspective during our last five tarmac rally event
starts we’ve been placed on the podium on three occasions and placed
fourth in the other.
“At Targa Tasmania we made an early exit but still went on to
become the best performed vehicle, winning 23 stages outright at the
Internationally acclaimed event.
Bookings for either the Adelaide or Melbourne Skelta ride/drive
days can be made direct through Ray Vandersee on 0419785740. As he’ll
be traveling throughout isolated areas please leave a message and he’ll
return your call soon after.
