Formula S2000 on the way up PDF Print E-mail
Wednesday, 19 September 2007

Aside from superb on-track action and a growing international profile, International Formula Master’s Formula S2000 is fast developing a reputation as a great hill climber.

IFM team Jenzer Motosport, together with driver Florian Lachat, have enjoyed great results following the Formula S2000’s entry into a range of hill climbing challenges in Switzerland.

Les Rangiers saw the single-seater successfully complete its first outingrahel_frey_in_the_s2000.jpg with a second in category win and a seventh overall finish. Less than a week later, the IFM race car took it’s first category win at Oberhallau, setting the fourth best total time of the event whilst Gurnigel saw the Formula S2000 finish second in its category with a sixth place overall finish.

“We have made very little changes to the car so far,” said Jenzer Motorsport Team Principal Andreas Jenzer. “It was almost taken straight from delivery to its first hill climb as Florian Lachat just wanted to get used to the car and have some fun! Things have worked out very well so far and we are very happy with our results.”

“I was rather surprised to hear about this project,” added IFM Series Director Mauro Sipsz. “However, it is great to hear how well the Formula S2000 is doing away from the track and shows how truly versatile the car can be.”
