Cram Competition's
Jérôme D’Ambrosio claimed
the inaugural Formula Master Driver title today in round 14 at Brands
Hatch, UK, in a thrilling race which saw the Belgian post fastest lap
after
fastest lap as he climbed from eighth to a fifth finish.
The race win belonged to team-mate Arturo Llobell however who
led the 28-lap race from the start, having overtaken Ombra Racing’s Johnny Cecotto Jr as the lights went out.
J.D.
Motorsport’s Chris van der Drift claimed third
place, having spent the 45-minute race alternating fighting Johnny
Cecotto Jr for second and defending against fourth place man ADM
Motorsport’s Norbert Siedler.
Jérôme D’Ambrosio, Cram
Competition
“I
knew I only needed one point but we’re racers
and although it’s important to think about the overall classification,
I was always going to push in the race! The whole weekend has gone
beautifully, I couldn’t have asked for more.”
Arturo Llobell, Cram Competition
“I
knew I had a good rhythm for the race and had to take
the lead on the start as it’s very hard to overtake on this track.
Thankfully I had a good start and then tried to build the gap. The
safety
car cancelled things out but I was able to build a margin back up as
Van der Drift and Cecotto Jr were fighting.”
