Hitech flies at Rockingham PDF Print E-mail
Saturday, 29 September 2007
The British weather could do nothing to dampen Hitech Racing’s spirits as it showed its intention of ending the Lloyds TSB Insurance British F3 International Series on a high at Rockingham this weekend.  Estonian Marko Asmer was convincingly quickest in today’s two 40 minute test sessions, the 23 year-old, who clinched the title with his tenth win last time out at Croft, more than two seconds ahead of his nearest rival in session one and just under 1.5 seconds quicker in the second.

Unfortunately his talented young team-mate 18 year-old Walter Grubmüller, on his firsthitech.jpg visit to the track in wet conditions, was unable to use the knowledge gained from session one to good use in the second as an abundance of red flags effectively ruined his chances.

Tomorrow though sees the two all-important qualifying sessions which take place at 10.45 and 13.45 prior to the two races, which are scheduled to take place on Sunday at 11.35 and 14.55.

Test session one:

1. Marko Asmer 1:16.901

2. John Martin 1:19.010

3. Sebastian Hohenthal 1:19.135

4. Rodolfo Gonzalez 1:19.498

5. Esteban Guerrieri 1:19.716

6. Jonathan Kennard 1:19.796

Test session two:

1. Marko Asmer 1:29.437

2. Maro Engel 1:30.794

3. Jonathan Kennard 1:31.016

4. Esteban Guerrieri 1:31.116

5. Atte Mustonen 1:31.395

6. Niall Breen 1:31.434
