The British weather could do
nothing to dampen Hitech Racing’s spirits as it showed its intention of ending
the Lloyds TSB Insurance British F3 International Series on a high at Rockingham
this weekend. Estonian Marko Asmer
was convincingly quickest in today’s two 40 minute test sessions, the 23
year-old, who clinched the title with his tenth win last time out at Croft, more
than two seconds ahead of his nearest rival in session one and just under 1.5
seconds quicker in the second.
Unfortunately his talented young
team-mate 18 year-old Walter Grubmüller, on his first visit to the track in wet
conditions, was unable to use the knowledge gained from session one to good use
in the second as an abundance of red flags effectively ruined his chances.
Tomorrow though sees the two
all-important qualifying sessions which take place at 10.45 and 13.45 prior to
the two races, which are scheduled to take place on Sunday at 11.35 and
14.55.
