The
final round of the 2007 Dunlop Great & British Festival season will be a
celebration of the hot hatch, where all owners of any sporting hatch from any
marque, old and new, are invited to the party on 7th October at
Brands Hatch.
The
event will see the sixth ever running of the BARC Dunlop Sport Maxx Cup and it
is a Championship which was added to the 2007 Great & British line-up to
offer its drivers a stepping-stone into the British Touring Car
Championship. The ‘Hot Hatch’
festival at Brands Hatch will also celebrate what has been a fantastic inaugural
season for the series.
For the
first 100 ‘hot hatch’ cars through the gates and their passengers will be given
the rare opportunity of driving their car on the spectacular circuit in a
special parade lap at lunchtime on Sunday.
In
addition, during the lunchbreak on Sunday spectators will be given the chance to
get closer to the action and stroll round the ‘pit lane’ to see MINI Challenge
and the PlayStation Ginetta Junior cars.
There will also be non-stop race action on Sunday; racing will start
at 10:00 am. Alongside the core
Great & British championships of the Dunlop Radical EnDuro and BiDuro
Championships, MINI Challenge and the PlayStation Ginetta Juniors will be the
BARC Westfield Sportscar Championship.
Lisa
Davison of Dunlop Great & British Festivals states: “The Brands Hatch round
of the Dunlop Great & British Festivals will be an electric finale where the
core championship titles are still to play for.
“The
event will also celebrate the inaugural season of the BARC Dunlop Sport Maxx Cup
and we are inviting owners of any sporting hatch to join the party in the ‘Hot
Hatch’ Festival. We hope to build
on the successes of this year and make the 2008 season bigger and better for the
series.”
