The Racing 4 Charity event on Friday
11 January at Autosport International 2008, NEC, Birmingham, is attracting the cream of world
class motorsport and you could be racing alongside them, helping to reach David Brabham’s fundraising target of
£50,000. With all 20 teams confirmed to take their places on the starting grid,
and with three team sponsors
already pledging £20,000, the event is well on its way to success.
A plethora of motorsport stars are joining
forces for Racing 4 Charity, in what is billed to be the battle of the
motorsport championships, with drivers from the ranks of ALMS, DTM, WTCC, BTCC, British and
FIA GT, British F3, World Rallying, karting and Formula Renault all taking
part.
With just one WTCC round remaining,
Andy Priaulx is on the cusp of clinching his third World Touring Car
Championship crown and the master himself has entered a team for the Racing 4
Charity event.
Two-time Formula Indy World Champion
and 2003 Indianapolis 500 winner Gil de Ferran, ITV
F1’s Louise Goodman and BTCC Team RAC star Tom Onslow-Cole are also
among the latest motorsport celebrities to join the fray. Stars confirmed from
the world of karting include Italian Open Masters Kart Champion, Gary Catt;
Italian Open, European and Asia Pacific Kart Champion, Will Stevens; 2005 World
Kart Champion Oliver Oakes and World Series by Renault star Ben Hanley.
For £300, members of the public can
take their place alongside some of the best drivers on the planet, which
includes two
entrance tickets to Autosport International 2008 for Friday 11 January, usually
an exclusive trade day. The fun starts at 1.30pm on the Karting 4 U track in Hall 4, where a 30-minute
qualifying session will precede the extended one and a half hour race, which
starts at 3.15pm.

Charities set to benefit from the Racing 4
Charity event at Autosport International include: Bliss (The Premature Baby
Charity), The Richard Burns Foundation, Whizzkids, NARA (The Breathing Charity), Juvenile Diabetes
Research Foundation, Warwickshire & Northamptonshire Air Ambulance, The
British Heart Foundation, WOMAC
and The Butterfly appeal for About Face, and Christies Hospital Cancer Ward (Manchester).

including entry to the 45-minute adrenaline-pumping Live Action Arena,
children’s (5 – 15 years) tickets are £18.50.
The elite Paddock Pass is available at £34.00 for adults
and £24.50 for children. The Paddock Pass gives exclusive access to the
Driver Signing Area; access to the Live Action Arena Paddock back stage;
priority seating and fast-track entry to the Live Action Arena, and a show
guide lanyard including pictures of celebrities and a detailed floor plan of
the show. There are a limited number of Paddock Passes available, so book early
to avoid disappointment.
