GP2: ROUND 10 PREVIEW– ISTANBUL, TURKEY
Great Britain’s Adam Carroll knows the pressure is on to score some
points and get back on the podium as the 2006 GP2 season nears its
completion. The penultimate round is held in mystical Istanbul, the
only city in the world to straddle two continents, both Asia and Europe.
The Turkish Grand Prix made its debut on the F1 and GP2 calendar last
year and was quickly embraced by the drivers who hailed it as one of
the great circuits.
Last round, the Racing Engineering driver had a miserable time in
rain-hit Budapest, crashing whilst leading the Sprint race, but now he
hopes he can make an end of season dash for points.
“I’m pleased to get back to racing after the break. We only have two
rounds left so it’s even more important for me to get some good
results. I finished second round here in the Sprint race last year so I
some good memories of it. I hope to go one better this weekend.”
