Richard Keen and Jonathan Legris are the latest additions
to the entry list for the 2007 Visma Formula Palmer Audi Autumn Trophy.
Both drivers have plenty of experience in other formulas to call upon, and
will begin the series amongst the favourites, both for the Autumn Trophy and
FPA Shootout.
Buckinghamshire's Keen already has an impressive CV, despite being only
21-years-old. Karting has formed the backbone of his racing career, but he
also has experience in Formula Ford, and raced in the 2006 Formula Renault
World series at Donington. Lack of sponsorship thwarted his F3 plans for
2007, but he hopes that an impressive display in FPA will make things easier
for 2008.
"I've been out of the seat for most of the year, and the Autumn Trophy
looked like a fantastic proposition. I've been keeping tabs on the FPA
results this season, and the competition is going to be tough. You have to be
positive though, and my aim is to win the Autumn Trophy," said a bullish
Keen.
Keen's wet weather testing performance will bolster his confidence, after he
went quickest in difficult conditions at Snetterton yesterday (9 October).
19-year-old Jonathan Legris comes to FPA after two years in Formula BMW, and
is currently balancing his racing career with a degree in Sports Performance.
Legris battled cancer twice during his first two years of Formula BMW, and
now hopes FPA will get him back on track.
"I really wanted to do a winter series to keep my eye in, and the Autumn
Trophy looked great. I've raced against a few of the drivers before and
they're all incredibly strong, so the races are going to be a great indicator
of my overall performance. A shot at the McLaren Autosport BRDC Award is also
high on the list of priorities," said Legris.
The Visma Formula Palmer Audi Autumn Trophy
takes place at Brands Hatch on 27/28 October. Norfolk's Snetterton circuit plays host to
the second round on November 3/4, and includes the FPA shootout to decide who
wins the last place in the coveted McLaren Autosport BRDC Award.
