Rallycross Superprix Live Demonstration In Newcastle upon Tyne PDF Print E-mail
Thursday, 18 October 2007
The organisers of the 2007 Jersey Farm Hotel Rallycross Superprix, which takes place at Croft Circuit near Darlington on November 3rd and 4th, have confirmed that they are to hold a Live Demonstration and Media event on the Quayside in Newcastle Upon Tyne.

Supported by the Newcastle City Council, the live demonstration will take place two days before the Superprix on Thursday November 1st between 11am and 2pm in the Spillers area of the Newcastle Quayside.
Stephen Savage, Head of Public Health and Environment Protection and his team have fully supported the organisers to bring this event to the City of Newcastle. "I am delighted to see this event coming to the City and adding to the diversity of events Newcastle attracts. It will bring the excitement of Rallycross whilst promoting a very serious message in the "Driving Safely Campaign", which illustrates how driving at speed should be kept on Motorsport Circuits and not on public roads."

Tyne Tees television have already confirmed that they will be covering the media day/demonstration on the Quayside and will also follow the progress of the LINGsCARS.com Rallycross Open Championship points leader, "Mad" Mark Watson from Barnard Castle during the event at Croft.

Rallycross Superprix organiser - Peter Stott added: "This is something that we have been working on for a long time and it will allow us to take the sport of Rallycross to the general public. A big thank you must go to the Newcastle City Council, Northumbria Police, North East Ambulance Service and Tyne & Wear Fire for providing PSM Motorsport and the Rallycross Superprix with this opportunity to showcase our sport. We look forward to welcoming the North East public to the demonstration on the Quayside, providing them with a glimpse of what is in store for the Superprix itself at Croft."

13 times European Rallycross and defending Rallycross Superprix Champion, Kenneth Hansen from Sweden, has already confirmed that he will be taking part in the demonstration event in Newcastle. "I hope that we will see many spectators on the Thursday at Newcastle so we can show how good our sport is." added Hansen.

A VIP area will be created in the Ouseburn regeneration centre on the site adjacent to the pits area. PSM Motorsport Ltd plan to invite various guests and celebrities to the event.
