ELF Renault Clio Cup Latest - Trio Confirmed For Winter Cup |

Three
more drivers have committed to the 2007 ELF Renault Clio Winter Cup, which gets
underway with rounds one and two at Donington Park National circuit on Saturday,
3rd November. Robertshaw Racing will run SEAT Leon Cupra R Class
champion Harry Vaulkhard (Jesmond), T-Cars front-runner Joe Hopkins (Shepshed)
will partner Chris Law (Guernsey) at Team Pyro, while Árón Smith (Rathfarnham)
continues his career with Mardi Gras Motorsport after finishing 13th
in the 2007 ELF Renault Clio Cup.
Vaulkhard
had four wins in 2007 as he won the class title by just four points. He follows
Jonathan Fildes (Co Meath) and Ben Winrow (Earls Barton) in making the switch to
ELF Renault Clio Cup racing in 2007 with a permanent move in 2008 a possibility
with the Whitley Bay-based team.
Hopkins
joins fellow teenager Chris Law at Team Pyro and is looking to build on the
success he has enjoyed in his debut season in the T Cars Championship.
Registering 10 podiums and one fastest lap from 14 races so far, he is in line
to finish as vice-champion to Daniel Brown, younger brother of Clio Cup racer,
Robert.
Smith,
17, enjoyed a consistent season in his first year of car racing. The Renault
Insurance-backed brother of former British Touring Car driver Gavin Smith had a
best result of fourth in the penultimate round 11 at Thruxton, starting on the
front row of the grid for round 12.
The
four-round ELF Renault Clio Winter Cup begins at Donington Park on Saturday,
3rdth November. Each meeting will see one qualifying session
and two races held on the same day, with the Formula Renault UK with Michelin
Winter Cup taking following the same schedule. November, concluding at North Yorkshire’s Croft circuit on
