Brett Stevens Racing on display at Burpengary For Leukeamia Foundation PDF Print E-mail
Tuesday, 30 October 2007
Multiple Australian Drag Racing Champion and 2006 Caboolture Shire Sports Person of the Year, Brett ‘The Boss’ Stevens will be putting on a public display of his professional race team at Tower Tattooing in Burpengary for a Leukaemia Foundation QLD Fundraiser ‘Open Day’ this Saturday (3rd November).

Stevens is an official Patron of the Leukaemia Foundation QLD (Caboolture Branch) and is taking time out of his busy schedule between rounds of the National Drag Racing Championship series to help with the fun filled day of activities.

On display for the crowds will be his 3500 horsepower Kitten Car Care Products Funny Car, a Jack Daniel’s Racing Nitro Harley Top Bike and both a Jack Daniel’s Racing and an SP Racing Ford Falcon Top Doorslammer.

Adding to the huge Brett Stevens Racing exhibit will be a show and shine street car display, raffles, giveaways, face painting and sausage sizzle with all profits raised going to the Leukaemia Foundation QLD (Caboolture Branch).

“It isn’t very often that I get the opportunity to have my team on display at a local event due to my racing and show commitments, but this opportunity came up and I was more than happy to help out for the good cause,” Stevens said.

“It is also a great opportunity for people in my own community to come down and have a look at what a professional motorsport team is like up close and personal.”

“As well as my display there will be a range of other activities going on throughout the day at Tower Tattooing with all profits raised going to the Leukaemia Foundation so everyone should come on down!”

Established in Queensland in 1975, the Leukaemia Foundation is the only national organisation dedicated to the care and cure of patients and families living with leukaemias, lymphomas, myeloma and related blood disorders.

It provides personalised support and care for patients and families right throughout their journey – from diagnosis, treatment to recovery. This support is provided by an extensive team of trained cancer nurses and allied health professionals and reaches every town and community across Australia, with the Caboolture Shire having its very own Branch.

Stevens is one of Australia’s leading Drag Racers and is the only person in the world to compete in three professional Group 1 Drag Racing brackets simultaneously (Top Doorslammer, Top Bike and Top Alcohol).

Some of his recent Drag Racing accomplishments include winning the 2004 Australian Top Doorslammer and the 2005 Australian Top Bike Championships, member of the Australian Motorcycle Hall of Fame, holder of the quickest Australian Harley record with quarter mile run of 6.4 seconds, as well as various other records and titles.
