Mark Winterbottom on pole for the Desert 400 PDF Print E-mail

November 2, 2007 - Ford Performance Racing (FPR) has continued its dominant form in the Middle East with Orrcon Ford Credit FPR Falcon driver Mark Winterbottom blitzing to his fourth Pole position of the season at the Desert 400 in Bahrain today. Castrol FPR Falcon driver Steve Richards qualified 19th after locking his brakes during two of his fast runs during the very competitive 55 minute session.


Winterbottom’s lap time of 1:25.6093s almost 3/10ths of a second faster than rival Ford driver Steve Johnson with Russell Ingall third in an all Ford top three.


Hot and windy conditions prevailed in Bahrain throughout qualifying, although it is cooler than it has been over the past two days. The first of three 31 lap races to decide the winner of Round 12 will take place at 3:00pm local time. (Minus 8 hours EST)
