Formula Master adds new team PDF Print E-mail
Tuesday, 06 November 2007

Performance Racing was announced as the first new team to join Formula Master for next season with the British outfit confirming two entries in 2008.

Originally founded in Sweden during 1999, the team was purchased by current team manager Bobbi Issazadhe a year later. A former motorcycle road racer and single-seater driver, Issazadhe sees Formulaperformance_racing.jpg Master as the perfect replacement to his British Formula 3 entries in addition to the team’s A1GP Team Pakistan commitments.

“We’ve kept a close eye on Formula Master from day one and were thinking of joining the Series this year,” said Issazadhe. “We were running up to four entries in British Formula 3 though, on top of our A1GP racing, which meant it wasn’t possible in 2007.

“2008 is different; the Series has great potential and we want to be part of that. We will be a year behind so our expectations are realistic but with the team’s experience and two good drivers, I’m sure we can be top ten contenders.”

Previous successes include three runner-up titles in British Formula 3 over the last six years with two Performance Racing drivers finishing second and third in the national class this year.

Part of the team’s history has already coincided with Formula Master; former drivers Juho Annala and Rodolfo Avila are both 2007 Formula Master graduates.

“It is a pleasure to announce Performance Racing’s participation in next year’s Formula Master season,” said Series Director Mauro Sipsz. “We are enjoying great interest from several teams at the moment, which adds to the sense of achievement our debut season has already brought.

“I look forward to seeing Performance Racing on the grid at our first 2008 race in Valencia next May.”
