With
the support of Mygale Australia,
Trent Harrison will be racing the
latest Mygale SJ08a at the final round of the Australian Formula Ford
Championship in December.
“Im
looking forward to it, I have done some testing in the car and it drives really
nicely and suits my style”
After
winning the final race and finishing second in the Victorian Series in 2007, Harrison hopes to make a successful debut in the National
series. “I certainly think it’s
important to race a round or two at National level prior to entering the series
due to the intensity of the competition” commented Harrison.
The
car is the latest of the French built Mygale chassis and with Mygale currently
leading the Australian Formula Ford Championship, as well as already taking the
championship honors in England for the fourth consecutive year, it shall be the
car to beat in the right hands.
“I
think that if I can finish in the top 10 we will call the round a success,
obviously there will need to be significant development on my behalf to compete
for the championship next year, which I daresay will happen over the summer”
“The
new SJ08a Mygale looks to be faster again and we are really looking forward to
having Trent in
the car. He is a mature young guy who
has shown awesome speed at State level. Phillip Island is only the first round in the
car for him, and we are looking forward to him moving up through the field.” Commented
the director of Mygale Australia,
Greg Woodrow
Harrison will be entering
the Australian Championship in 2008 and expects to be running for the
Championship. “I will race National next
year and the Formula Ford Festival, its clear that my intentions are to race
internationally and the both the National championship and the festival are the
best way for me to go”
“Meanwhile
my goals are to successfully finish Phillip
Island and begin an extensive testing
program for next year” commented Harrison.
Phillip Island is the final round of the V8
Supercar series and will be held over the first weekend in December.
