The
Australian Formula Ford Championship is pleased to announce an eight
round calendar for the 2008 season that will see the series showcased
at eight different venues across four Australian states.
Formula Ford's national category will kick start at Eastern Creek on 7-9 March in 2008 and finish up at Oran Park on 5-7 December.
The
series is set to travel to a host of new venues in 2008- Hidden Valley
in the Northern Territory will be a welcome addition for Formula Ford
with the series having never travelled to the top end.
"It's
fantastic to be able to take our category to places that don't
traditionally get to watch Formula Ford live at a circuit, it also
gives our young up and coming drivers the opportunity to visit tracks
they wouldn't traditionally race," said Category Manager Margaret Hardy.
"We
hope to confirm our presence at Indy by the end of January, that event
would certainly be another fantastic experience that I am sure all next
year's competitors will be hoping we can lock away."
Formula
Ford will be a support category at seven of the V8 Supercar
Championship Series rounds, and will support the V8 Development Series
at Wakefield Park on 4-6 April.
Continuing
on it's relationship with Network Seven after returning to television
screens this year, Formula Ford has confirmed a deal that will again
see it broadcast nationwide in 2008.
