V8 Supercar driver Jack Perkins will make his return to the race track
behind the wheel of a go-kart on Friday as he prepares for this
weekend’s VACC Four Hour Karting Enduro at Port Melbourne.
Perkins, who last month was forced to step out of his Jack Daniel’s
Racing Holden Commodore due to illness, will pair up with V8 team-mate
Shane Price in the karting event.
The pair will be joined at the event by fellow V8 stars Jason Richards
(who will race alongside Tasman Motorsport engineer Adam DeBorre) and
Alan Gurr along with recently crowned Fujitsu V8 Series Champion Tony
D’Alberto and the winner of the 2007 Mike Kable Young Gun Award Dale
Wood, who will share the driving duties with his brother Glen.
A total of 40 teams will be competing in the event aboard 125cc powered karts reaching speeds in excess of 100 km/h.
