As the clock ticks down to the start of the 2008 WPS Bathurst 12 Hour
on Sunday February 10, the momentum towards the third running of the
WPS Bathurst Motor Festival continues to build with tickets now
released for sale.
With participants able to register for the WPS Bathurst 12 Hour up
to January 18, over 60 enquiries and 25 entries have already been
received, pointing towards an even bigger and better festival than ever
before for Mount Panorama spectators.
WPS Bathurst Motor Festival Event Director James O’Brien said the
release of tickets for the revived WPS Bathurst 12 Hour had come at
just the right time for those looking for an affordable yet
action-packed Christmas gift.
WPS Bathurst Motor Festival Event Director James O’Brien said the
release of tickets for the revived WPS Bathurst 12 Hour had come at
just the right time for those looking for an affordable yet
action-packed Christmas gift.
“The WPS Bathurst Motor Festival is shaping up to be bigger and
better than ever before, with interest in the revived WPS Bathurst 12
Hour piqued after its running earlier this year,” said O’Brien.
“Combined with an extended on-track entertainment program providing
even more to see and do over the three days at Mount Panorama, tickets
to the 2008 Festival are a great idea for Christmas for that special
someone.
“With children under 12 free with a paying adult, free Bathurst
National Motor Racing Museum entry for all patrons and free paddock
access the whole family can get involved without blowing the budget to
enjoy the full Mount Panorama experience - including the view from the
top of the Mountain!”
While the racing action should be more than enough to keep the
entire family entertained, the 2008 WPS Bathurst Motor Festival will
also feature an extended on and off-track entertainment program, with
the first ever Superstreet Nationals plus the return of the FMX
Nationals, Mad Ron’s Jet Truck, the Raceline/Team Peer Drift Team, the
Sports Bike Stunt Team and Drag Car Demonstrations all on the bill.
Raceline Events Director Ian Baddock said that Raceline Events were
pleased to again be appointed by the Event Organisers to provide an
ever-expanding entertainment special for the 2008 WPS Bathurst Motor
Festival.
“The first ever Superstreet Nationals is just part of our
commitment to continuing to grow the package for fans at the WPS
Bathurst Motor Festival,” said Badock.
“Tough street machines, muscle cars, classics, cruisers, hot rods,
imports, drift cars, and exhibition cars and bikes will all be on show
for the Superstreet Nationals, with an audio show and sound off,
driving events, a show and shine, club and trade displays and other
entertainment including the very popular Dyno Comp all part of the
show.
“We are also really happy to be welcoming back Mad Ron’s impressive
Jet Truck, plus the FMX Nationals which proved very popular last year
with both the riders and the fans.”
Tickets can be purchased from Ticketec on 13 28 49 with discounted
pricing available to patrons who purchase prior to the event. All
patrons receive free entry to the Bathurst National Motor Racing Museum
with each ticket, and children under 12 are free when they enter with a
paying adult.
Access to the top of Mount Panorama will be open throughout the
three day Event, with patrons able to catch a shuttle or drive their
own car to the Mountain top for a unique viewing point of the track,
with the Big Screen ensuring they miss none of the action.
The 2008 WPS Bathurst Motor Festival will be held at Mount Panorama
on February 8-10, incorporating the WPS Bathurst 12 Hour on Sunday
February 10.
