Darwin teenager has dreams come true as she wins a luxury car PDF Print E-mail
Wednesday, 12 December 2007

bonnieincarlaugh-med.jpgDarwin teenager Bonnie Wyatt has had her dreams come true after being presented with a luxury Chrysler 300C in Darwin today after winning the car in a nationwide competition.

19-year-old Wyatt was handed the keys to the brand new Chrysler 300C as the winner of a competition held Australia-wide by national electronics retailer WOW Sight and Sound in conjunction with Chrysler and WPS, all sponsors of Gold Coast-based V8 Supercar team WPS/WOW Racing.

Wyatt, who hails from Humpty Doo, was ecstatic upon hearing the news that she was the lucky winner of the spectacular vehicle, valued at A$59,990.

“This Chrysler is just amazing,” said Wyatt.

“I still can’t believe it. It’s such a nice car I’m a little scared to drive it. It's a very, very cool car.

“So many people are jealous of me right now. I don’t think many people my age have a car like this. It’s the sort of car that looks really cool and turns heads so when I do drive it I think it will be really fun.”

At first Wyatt thought the phone call alerting her to the win was a prank, but her suspicion soon turned to elation as the full extent of her sensational prize was explained.

“My mum took the call and was trying to get me to talk to the person because she was saying I had won a car,” said Wyatt.

“I wouldn’t believe her, I thought someone was pranking me, but eventually mum convinced me to take the call.”

Wyatt purchased some CDs and DVDs from the WOW Sight and Sound Darwin store but at first passed up the opportunity to fill out an entry form for the WOW Sight and Sound/WPS Win a Chrysler competition.

The store security guard noticed this and encouraged Wyatt to enter because of the significant prize involved, prompting the teenager to fill out an entry that changed her life and made her the envy of her friends.

“I went into the WOW store to buy some CDs and DVDs,” said Wyatt.

“I don’t usually fill the entry forms out. I just filled one out and then it turns out that one was enough. It’s all pretty crazy, really.”

Wyatt was stunned at the appearance and finish of the Chrysler 300C at the handover today, which was staged at the very WOW store where she made the purchase and lodged her entry.

Friends and family were also present for the handover, but so proud of her new ride, Wyatt asked her parents to remove their shoes before sitting in the Chrysler.

The nursery worker couldn’t wait to have her first drive of the car, despite admitting that she was a little apprehensive about driving such a luxurious car.

The Chrysler 300C is the same car driven by WPS/WOW Racing Team Owner and successful businessman Craig Gore, as well as race drivers Max Wilson and Jason Bargwanna. Gore actually garaged his Bentley last year in favour of the Chrysler 300C and now Wyatt will enjoy the same vehicle.

“I’m not sure that I will drive it to work,” said Wyatt.

“There are too many dirt roads on the way to the nursery where I work. This car is so, so nice I want to really look after it and keep it nice.

“I even made sure Mum and Dad took their shoes off before they got in it today.”

WOW Sight and Sound held the competition across all of its 12 stores in Australia from October 1 to November 30 this year. Simply by making a purchase from a WOW Sight and Sound store patrons were able to fill out an entry form and be eligible to win.
