Monday, 07 January 2008

Celebrity chef James Martin will be unveiling his magnificent collection of performance cars at the inaugural PistonHeads Show next weekend at the Birmingham NEC.

The BBC1’s Saturday Kitchen presenters collection, one of the best in the country, will be driven from home in Hampshire to the Birmingham NEC, where it will take pride of place on January 11, 12 and 13.

James, who is also the Mail on Sunday’s motoring correspondent, will be giving visitors the chance to admire his machines which includes a Lotus 340R, a 1959 Chevy Corvette, an Aston Martin DB5, a Shelby GT 350 Mustang, an Audi RS4, and a Jordan and Lola Formula One car.

Nolan O’Connor, the PistonHeads Show Group Marketing Manager, said: “It’s no exaggeration to say we are over the moon that James has been able to take time out of his busy schedule to indulge his passion for top performance cars at the PistonHeads Show.

“When it comes to motoring, James’ knowledge is first rate and his collection of cars is second to none.”

Building on the success of PistonHeads.com which now has more than 1.3million unique visitors each month, the website will be hosting its first major show at the NEC on January 11, 12 and 13, running alongside the Autosport International Show.

Other major exhibitors at the show include Lamborghini, which will have a stand giving sports car devotees the chance to encounter acclaimed models including the 6.5 litre Murciélago LP640 Roadster and the 530hp, super-light Gallardo Superleggera.

The Italian sports car giant will also feature in the Live Action Arena where 80 machines will take part in 50-minute shows on a purpose-built track. In addition there will be celebrity guest appearances plus competitions for spectators.

Autocar Magazine presents the exclusive Supercar Paddock and a selection of lucky PistonHeads members will be exhibiting their cars for fellow enthusiasts to admire.

There is also the chance to win tickets to the event if you join the PistonHeads group on Facebook.

To book tickets either telephone the Box Office on 0870 0400395 or visit the show website http://www.pistonheadsshow.com where you can also find plenty of useful information.
