Birmingham’s NEC next week. The
Oxford-based company who boasts Jenson Button, Gianmaria Bruni, Guy Smith, Mike
Conway, James Walker, Salvador Duran, Will Power and Mark Blundell among its
past and present drivers will be located on Stand number 8203 in Hall
8
Company
Director and Chief Trainer Stewart Wild will be present all four days offering
advice and guidance to respective clients and will be happy to answer questions:
“The Autosport Show is widely regarded as the Number 1 motor racing exhibition
in the world. It attracts major
players from around the world, including drivers from all forms of
motorsport. For many years I’ve
been surprised how few drivers take training seriously, and we felt it was time
to take Formula Fitness to the people to show them what can be
achieved.”
Formula Fitness
has been training more racing drivers than any other company in the UK for the
past decade. The company looks
after drivers at all levels, training and educating them to ultimately improve
their performance and giving them the winning edge.
The company is
conveniently based at the University Sports Complex in Oxford. Formula Fitness
offers a comprehensive range of Human Performance Services, together with
various associated services from some of the countries finest
professionals.
A tailored
fitness programme will work the key areas such as strength, endurance and CV but
also go beyond these basics. This
is where Formula Fitness differs from other training providers. Formula Fitness trainers work the
additional critical aspects of motor skills (speed, agility, balance, reaction
time and dexterity) as well as focusing on neck training, flexibility and
psychology.
After assessing
a driver’s fitness levels they design a specific fitness programme tailored to
their needs and work with the driver one to one at the Oxford based facility to
maximise their results. In addition, they provide them with a
programme to follow at their home-based gym.
They encourage
at least four sessions per week to get the most out of the programme and in the
off-season they also arrange both warm weather and altitude training camps. All training is geared towards the start
of the season and drivers having that winning edge.
Race Care,
specific to Motorsport, is about optimising driver performance. It
allows the driver to concentrate solely on what is needed on the track, knowing
that all other aspects have been taken care of. It will help them improve their
psychological wellbeing, thus boosting overall
performance.
Formula Fitness
has provided race care for drivers in F1, GP2, WSR, A1GP, F3000, British F3,
Macau F3, Euro and British Renault, BTCC, Formula BMW and Endurance racing at Le
Mans, Spa, Daytona, Sebring and Bathurst.
Their tried and
tested race care includes full medical support for any minor problems, pre-race
and post-race nutrition advice and preparation, controlled hydration, driver
warm-up – pre-race, mobility/ flexibility/ stretching, in car visualization and
preparation prior to qualifying and races, specialised cooling jackets and
hydration for the grid, driver cool down – post-race massage and debriefing.
“Formula
Fitness provides an exceptional all round service to both teams and drivers,
said Christian Horner, Team Principal, Redbull Racing F1. Adding; “With
standards of driver preparation ever increasing, Formula Fitness provides a
detailed and concise approach which is reflected within the results that their
drivers achieve".
Gianmaria Bruni
concluded; “Formula Fitness are quite simply the best trainers I have come
across.”
