Leading
publishing group Dennis will remain as official media partner to the
HiQ MSA British Touring Car Championship for a fifth consecutive year
in 2008 as
Britain’s premier motor racing series celebrates its landmark 50th anniversary.
Dennis will continue to provide the BTCC with
unrivalled levels of coverage through its hugely popular Auto Express, evo and Maxim publications, both in print and on their
respective websites – it is anticipated that the media value to the BTCC will be close to £1 million.
Indeed, across the three
titles the BTCC will be exposed to potential audiences of 26,816,000 print and 22,320,000 online during the next 12 months.
Auto
Express is the UK’s best-selling weekly motoring read with a circulation of more than 80,000 and readership of almost 320,000 every
Wednesday. Its website http://www.autoexpress.co.uk/ attracts over 875,000 unique
monthly visitors.
High performance car monthly evo sells in excess of 76,000 magazines with a readership of 242,000. Its website http://www.evo.co.uk/ is viewed by some 240,000 unique visitors each month.
Sales of
favourite men’s magazine Maxim, meanwhile, are around 107,000 per month with readership figures put at 606,000. Another 745,000
unique visitors are drawn to its website http://www.maximmag.co.uk/.
Throughout
2008, each will feature the BTCC with topical insights, video footage,
latest news, race previews, event advertising, ticket competitions and
promotions. Non-motoring magazines Men’s Fitness and PC Pro, which are also part of Dennis’s high-profile stable,
will be included in the mix as well, adding further value for the BTCC.
As in previous seasons, the Auto Express and evo
names will feature on the doors of all cars on the BTCC grid at each
race event and on the championship’s podium and television interview
backdrops.
Phil Parker, Executive Director, Dennis Publishing
comments: “We are delighted to continue this tremendously strong
relationship with the BTCC, particularly in what will be such an
important year in the championship’s history and which is sure to
capture the
imagination of our readers.
“The championship’s unrivalled
popularity among the British public certainly makes it a perfect
environment in which to further broaden the appeal of our key titles,
in front of the country’s largest motor sport crowds and a live,
prime time television audience. We very much look forward to the
forthcoming BTCC season and being a part of the 50 years
celebrations.”
BTCC Series Director Alan Gow says:
“Dennis Publishing’s contribution to the BTCC’s growth in the last four years has been immense and I do not believe we could
wish for a better media partner. The pro-active approach of the Auto Express, evo and Maxim
teams has helped the championship win
over many thousands of new fans and it is therefore fitting that the
Dennis name should be associated with the BTCC in our historic 50th
anniversary season. It is a relationship of which I am extremely proud.”
