Building on its numerous 2007 successes DAMS has upped its ambitions
for the 2008 season, and confirms its participation in several
top-class international championships.
This
year DAMS will be back in the GP2 Championship, the F1 feeder series.
Two entirely new cars designed by Dallara with Renault power will be
entrusted to Toyota driver Kamui Kobayashi, and Jérôme d’Ambrosio. On
25th January, DAMS will enter the Asian GP2 Series with the same 2
drivers. The team is happy to announce its selection for the BMW Europe
Championship, whose races are curtain raisers at the majority of the
Formula 1 grands prix.
DAMS has also decided to start this year with a completely new visual
identity including a revised logo and new paintwork with the cars’
livery redesigned around red and grey. This refined colour profile
reflects DAMS’s professionalism and international ambitions; it will be
a part of the team in 2008 and beyond.
In addition, DAMS !
will launch an entirely new dedicated web suite, www.dams.fr, at the
end of next week. It will be open to both professionals and
enthusiasts, and will allow them to follow the team’s season weekend
after weekend providing results and frequently updated information.
The
DAMS team wishes all motor sport lovers a magnificent 2008 season, and
looks forward to seeing them on 25th January in Dubai at the first
round of the Asian GP2 Series, which will fire the opening shot in the
team’s new campaign.
Eric Boullier, General Manager: “DAMS is
expanding like its ambitions. This winter we’ve spent a lot of time
restructuring our team to take up the challenge represented by our
participation in three top-level championships. Our aim hasn’t changed,
and we’re out to win everything in which we’ve entered; and also to
reinforce our status as one of the main player on the French motor
racing scene. We’ve decided to highlight our image even more in a year
full of inn!
ovations. In the hugely competitive world of today’s motor sport no
aspect of our activities can be neglected. Our new livery will enable
us to boost our impact as well as that of our partners on the
international scene. This coming season I’m really delighted to be part
of a highly professional, closely-knit team whose human values and
motivation need no further proof.”
