Masters Awards
celebrate fellow drivers voting for prize-winners!
The Award winning
drivers from across the 7 series of the 2007 Masters Racing Series’ season were
announced at a Gala Ceremony in Brussels on Saturday (19
January).
By counting the
votes of competitors in each series in their post-season survey, the 7 Award
winners emerged, selecting each series’ 'Drivers’ Driver of the Season'.
Although Masters series are not run as points scoring championships, receiving
such acknowledgement from fellow competitors is always very a special accolade
for any historic race driver.
The Masters Drivers
Driver Award winners 2007 were announced as:
· Grand Prix
Masters - Peter Dunn
· World
Sportscar Masters - Ollie Hancock
· Sports
Racing Masters - Marc Devis
· Gentleman
Drivers GT & Sports Endurance - Jon Minshaw
· Masters

· Oldies but

the 70s - Alan Daffin
The special award
for The Masters Preparer of 2007 went to Simon Hadfield Motorsport, for both
high quality restorations, and on-track team preparation and
management
The major award from
the Masters every year is that called “The Spirit of the Series”, which went to
Mark Gibbon and David Hall, who race a Lister Jaguar in Sports Racing Masters
and a Chevrolet Corvette and a Jaguar E-Type in Gentleman Drivers
GT.
"After an excellent
season of racing, it was good to acknowledge the leading drivers as voted for by
their peers," said Christopher Tate of the Masters Racing Series. "All of these
drivers were worthy winners, in the face of some fierce competition both on
track and in the voting!"
