History has been made as the first
ever pair of brothers have confirmed they are joining the grid of the Formula
Palmer Audi Championship in 2008.
Reigning T-Car Champion Daniel (16)
and older brother Robert (19), who has raced in the Clio Cup will be the first
ever pair of siblings to race in the championship at the same time.
The brothers from Billericay, Essex got behind
the wheel of a Formula Palmer Audi car for the first time last week at a test at
Bedford Autodrome with promising results, Dan with a
lap time of 66.1 and Rob with 68.5.
The boys’ father Sean, who
raced in World Touring Cars, Hot-Rods and trucks during the 1980s is excited
about the prospect of his sons taking part in FPA this season: “The FPA is a
fantastic series as the races fall very conveniently in school holidays, Daniel
is in Sixth Form and Rob is at University so it is great that the whole family
can be together. The boys are competitive with one another, although they are
brothers they are rivals on the track which means my loyalty is split on race
day!”
