Mark Burdett Motorsport announce FR UK driver line up. PDF Print E-mail
Saturday, 02 February 2008

Mark Burdett Motorsport are pleased to announce their 3 car entry for the 2008 Formula Renault UK Championship.

Former team winter series driver, Richard Kent returns to the team and to Formula Renault after a season in Formula Palmer Audi.  Kent will be hoping to secure podium finishes early in the season as he did in FPA last year.

Kent is joined by another driver to have competed in the Renault backed Super One karting championship, Tom Armour.  Armour will be making his Formula Renault debut with the team at Round 1 of the series at Brands Hatch in March.  Armour sat out for the 2007 season to concentrate on his first year at Lincoln university and has been rapidly adapting to the Formula Renault car since starting testing towards the end of 2007.

After a season in Formula BMW Germany, Thomas Hylkema completes the line up and will enter the season as the teams most experienced driver.  The Dutchman’s season in German BMW stands him in good stead if the team history with ex-FBMW Germany racer, Markus Niemelas’ results are anything to go by from the 2006 season.

Speaking after completing the entry forms at the Autosport International Show recently, team principal Mark Burdett said

“Over the off-season we have invested in new equipment and staff and are continually moving the team forward and this has paid off as we have 3 strong drivers signed up early in the year!  The whole team are working hard and we are all looking forward to the season.”
