Paul Cruickshank Racing (PCR) will celebrate their 50th race meeting this weekend at Oran Park.

Only in operation since January 2003, the milestone has come up so quick it almost went through unnoticed.

"It's been pretty busy year with our V8 Supercar and Carrera Cup programs and to be honest I wouldn't have known about it if it wasn't brought up by one of the guys while working on the Ford V8 Supercar earlier this week," Paul Cruickshank said.

Currently in their fourth Carrera Cup season, PCR has also had three years in the V8 Supercar development series before graduating up to the V8 Supercar Championship Series this season.

"There's been plenty of highs and lows since 2003 but pushing for the development championship through to the final round last year was a highlight as was our first round win which Webby (Jonathon Webb) got last year in the Carrera Cup series at Eastern Creek."

Racing under the Glenfords Racing banner this season has seen the PCR outfit raise the bar with an increased commitment in Carrera Cup as well as the rise to V8 Supercars, but Cruickshank sees 2006 as a watershed year for his promising team.

"It's been a big year for us, the three car Carrera Cup team are doing brilliantly, we've had pole every round through Alex (Davison) and a number of race wins, the continued development of Jonathon Webb that's seen him earn a drive at Sandown and Bathurst in the V8 program and David Wall came to us this year and is leading the Rookie championship, so they are really going well.

"The V8 program has been tough but we knew it would be that way from the beginning. it is one of the toughest categories in the world but we've had some really encouraging races including a top ten at Winton and I'm looking forward to making further inroads in the second half of the year.

"Having reached our first 50 rounds I'd like to think that the next 50 will see us develop into a pretty formidable racing team."

The PCR team head to Oran Park this weekend for round 7 of the V8 Supercar Championship and round four of the Carrera Cup.

Alex Davison in the Glenfords-DeWalt Cup Car will be looking to make it five pole positions from five outings this year as he strives for that elusive first round win for 2006, while David Wall (Glenfords-Hitachi) will be pushing hard at his home track to keep his Rookie of the Year title hopes alive, a title chase he currently leads.

Jonathon Webb (Glenfords-Makita), also at his home round, will be looking for a strong round before he heads to Sandown where his duties for PCR will extend to pairing with Glenfords-AEG V8 Supercar driver Marcus Marshall in the V8 Supercar Sandown 500 endurance event as well as his Cup Car duties.

Webb will also pair with Marshall in the 'great race' at Bathurst on 5-8 October.

In V8 Supercars, Marshall in his Ford BA Falcon V8 Supercar will head back to Oran Park for the first time since 2003 when he raced, coincidentally, against Webb in the Carrera Cup series.
