| Morris ready for WPS Bathurst 12hr return |

Gold Coast V8 Supercar star and Bobby McGee were on site at the Careflight Gold
Coast Airport Hangar this afternoon in preparation of Morris’ return to Mount
Panorama to defend his 2007 WPS Bathurst 12 hour title and have a go in McGee’s
ex-Neville Hayley championship winning HQ.
With only days to go before Morris arrives at the iconic Australian circuit to
defend the title he earned in 2007 with Craig Baird and Garry Holt aboard Holt’s
BMW335i, Morris is excited at the prospect of combining his race around the
clock with three races aboard the famous Holden. “I remember seeing the HQs at Bathurst back in 1999 when Bobby McGee promoted the event and there were 163 entries and three grids, and it looked like a whole lot of fun,” said Morris. “I am really looking forward to getting out there and giving it a go, I have never raced a HQ before so it will be fun to just get in there on Friday and see how it feels, and see if I can challenge for the races. “As far as the WPS Bathurst 12 hour goes, I am really looking forward to getting back for another go at it, I had a great time last year and it’s a great Event for Australian motorsport, so hopefully we can get to it and see about keeping the title for another year.” McGee is planning on running Careflight organisation stickers on Morris’ HQ in support of the organization which saved him when he suffered a massive heart attack on a remote property four years ago. “I always try and support Careflight, and this weekend Paul (Morris) and I will be wearing Careflight hats and sporting Careflight stickers on the car, which will go nicely with our ‘Dirty Dangerous Dude’ shirts,” laughed McGee. The shirts McGee is referring to are some he has made especially for the weekend, which are emblazoned with the slogan ‘The Dirty Dangerous Dude in Bobby McGee’s HQ’ - playing on Morris’ now infamous nickname. “I am really happy to have ‘the dude’ driving my HQ at Bathurst, and I am telling him the HQ is his preparation for the WPS Bathurst 12 hour – if he can get in there and go for three HQ race wins then he should be set for the race around the clock,” said McGee. The WPS Bathurst Motor Festival kicks off on Friday the 8th of February, continuing Saturday and concluding on Sunday the 10th of February with the WPS Bathurst 12 Hour. Tickets can be purchased from Ticketek on 13 28 49 with discounted pricing available to patrons who purchase prior to the event. All patrons receive free entry to the Bathurst National Motor Racing Museum with each ticket, and children under 12 are free when they enter with a paying adult. Access to the top of Mount Panorama will be open throughout the three day Event, with patrons able to catch a shuttle or drive their own car to the Mountain top for a unique viewing point of the track, with the Big Screen ensuring they miss none of the action.
