Embarking
on their National series debut is Victorians Trent Harrison and Robert
Munnerley. Harrison will be driving the Mygale
SJ08a (#30) with the backing of Mygale Australia whilst Munnerley will be
piloting a Mygale SJ06 (#12) which ran last years National Championship in the
hands of Taz Douglas.
“I
am looking forward to my rookie year at National Formula Ford, I will be doing
some pre-season testing to learn the car aswell as working with Rob” commented Harrison.
“I
did a year of state Formula Ford last year in an older car and now I have got a
newer car to go National racing with” “I have been doing some testing and have
started to feel pretty comfortable in the car, so I look forward to Eastern
Creek” said Munnerley.
With
the season looming the boys have suggested they don’t intend on setting the
world alight instead are focusing towards progressing each and every outing
with the overall aim of finishing in the top 10 consistently. “Obviously racing at the front of the
National field is tough and being my first season I would like to hope I can
finish inside the top 8 on a regular basis, although I don’t want to set any
immediate goals, I just want to get experience and learn everything I possibly
can” commented Harrison. “Eastern Creek
is a great circuit and I have done a small handful of laps around the place but
like Trent I don’t have any expectations, I will race where I race and if
that’s in the 10 then I will be extremely happy” commented Munnerley.
Both
drivers are working with their engineer Sean Scott
to develop the cars, “We both work
really well with Sean and with his knowledge of open wheel race cars we can
adjust the car’s set up to suit our individual driving styles and the demands
of each circuit” said Harrison. “The
Mygale has an extremely good base set up but like every race car we do need to
make minor adjustments for the conditions” stated Munnerley.
Rob
would like to thank CXC Global for their continued support for the 2008
Season. Trent thanks his sponsors Monza Motors,
Mygale, Penrite, MG Multimedia and Eastern Race Fabrication.
The
first round of the 2008 season is at Eastern Creek on March 7-9th.
