Former British and Irish Rallycross Champion Lawrence Gibson has announced
his intentions to provide a full scale attack of the 2008 MSA British Rallycross
Championship in his awesome Metro 6R4 Supercar.
Gibson said "My entry has been sent in for round one at Lydden Hill over
Easter, and to be honest I cannot wait to get back in the thick of
it"
Gibson has been competing the Championship for many years in his
unique, normally aspirated - Goodman powered 6R4 which produces well over 500
BHP, and is backed for the tenth year in succession by P&O Ferries.
Gibson has had his share of bad luck over the last few seasons with a string
of spectacular accidents, roll's and his most recent problem of an engine
blow-up which instantly deleted his championship hopes at round one last year,
Gibson said "The engine blow last year was fairly major, we have been out for so
long awaiting specially made one-off components such as crankshaft, rods,
pistons, liners and valves"
Lawrence Gibson from Bandridge Northern Ireland who specialises in performance
car sales went on to say " We are really excited to be back, our 6R4 will be
carrying number 16 for the 2008 season and I really intend to push hard and show
the guys in the modern machinery what we are all about. Lydden is my favourite
circuit and I will do my best to put on a show for the Metro fans"
