On the Roman track in Vallelunga, named after Piero
Taruffi, the mighy Zyteck engines are
roaring once again. These engines are at the very heart of the Lola B02/50
which will themselves be the heart and soul of the new F.3000 championship of
Enzo Coloni.
Unfortunately the weather conditions are hindering the
work of the teams in this first day of tests, the can't fully profit from the
session due to the driving rain-if you'll pardon the pun!
The first driver to get on the track for some trial laps, is the Italian
Francesco Dracone, with the Emmebi Team. following we find Luis Razia (ELK Motorsport) and the rookie Ramon Zapata
(Emmebi).
With the passing of time and thanks to the wind, the track begins to dry up so
that all the drivers can have their first contact with the circuit.
Notwithstanding the unfavourable conditions the teams carry on their
development programmes for the first seasonal race, due on the 20th April on
this very track in Vallelunga.
We'll see a famous international motorsport name having his debut in Euroseries
3000: Nicolas Prost, son of Formula One Champion Alain Prost. He'll be driving
a Cerveza Sol ELK Motorsport.
At the end of the test day there are three drivers
being separated by just 3 tenths. Luis Razia (Cerveza Sol ELK Motorsport) on
the lead with the best performance with 1'30''041, behind him, Marcello Puglisi
on his GP Racing (1'30''294), Omar Leal on Durando (1'30''300) and the second
GP Racing driver Fabio Onidi (1'30''860).
Doing quite well also the two rookies Matteo Cazzati
on TP Formula (1'31''582) and the aforementioned Nicolas Prost with Cerveza Sol
ELK Motorsport (1'32''200). Behind them are Celso Miguez from Spain with
PlayTeam (1'33''566), Fabio Beretta on the third ELK Motorsport (1'33''786) and
the two Emmebi drivers Francesco Dracone (1'33''928) and
Ramon Zapata (1'34''639)
