British Formula 3 International team Carlin Motorsport will join Brookspeed Team
Trimite, one of the pacesetters in the recent official media launch of the Avon
Tyres British GT Championship, this Thursday 20 March at Coopers Square Shopping
Centre, Burton
upon Trent.
Southampton-based Brookspeed Team Trimite has confirmed that Britons James
Gornall, from Peterborough
and Jon Barnes from Southampton
will join one of Aldershot-based Carlin Motorsport’s young drivers to meet and
greet the shoppers before heading up the road to
Oulton
Park’s
opening rounds of the motor racing championships.
In
the first of four F3/GT Pit Shop Roadshows to be held in selected Grosvenor
Shopping Centres, the Brookspeed Team Trimite Dodge Viper Competition Coupe will
join the Carlin Motorsport Dallara F308 Mercedes HWA. Here top drivers and key personnel from both
teams will join shoppers for a meet and greet and the opportunity to get
autographs and photographs of their racing heroes.
Local
radio station Touch FM will also be getting in on the act with a live outside
broadcast direct from Coopers Square Shopping Centre from 2pm
until 5pm. In addition to interviewing the drivers and
key team personnel direct from the centre, the station will also be running
competitions in the run-up to the event which takes place this week. Some lucky winners will get the chance to
attend the opening rounds of the UK’s
most prestigious racing series’ at Cheshire’s
Oulton
Park
track.
“We
are looking forward to a great funday at Coopers
Square,
putting people on the spot to see who the real motoring enthusiasts are,” said
Station Manager Howard Higginson. “There will be on the spot quizzes and
challenges as well as some fun giveaways for all plus the chance for people to
meet the drivers and see the cars.”
Visitors
to the centre on Thursday could also win the chance to get a behind the scenes
visit to the Brookspeed Team Trimite pit garage or a Scalextric Digital GT
set.
The
drivers will be signing autographs in the Main
Square
from 11.00 before the Brookspeed Team Trimite Dodge Viper and Carlin Motorsport
Dallara head to race at Oulton
Park
over the Easter weekend, 22&24 March.
