Tuesday, 18 March 2008

Leading global hand tools brand GearWrench will be the primary sponsor of the BTC Racing team in this year’s HiQ MSA British Touring car Championship.

BTC is looking to improve on its first full BTCC season in 2007 with its pair of Lexus IS200s, driven by Chris Stockton and multiple British and European truck racing champion Stuart Oliver.

Team principal Bert Taylor said his team’s partnership with GearWrench would make a difference to the BTC’s performance. Its tools will be used exclusively by st_3594_b7d8.jpgthe team’s mechanics inside their pit garage at each race meeting and back at the squad’s workshop.

Taylor said: “I am delighted to welcome GearWrench on board the BTC team. I am confident that we will progressively move forward during this season and the sponsorship from GearWrench will help us work towards realising that potential.

“Using its high quality tools in the garage during the race weekend helps us to provide our drivers with the cars to challenge for that podium finish. To achieve our goals we need to be able to trust and rely on our team and equipment when it matters. I have total confidence in the GearWrench tools; they will make a huge difference in this demanding environment.”

Jon Fraser, managing director of GearWrench’s parent company Danaher Tool Group (Europe), commented: “We see this collaboration with BTC Racing and GearWrench as a joint brand building opportunity in a competitive field with innovation and quality our main focus in achieving our goals for 2008 and onwards”.
