Formula Renault BARC team Muzz Race has signed two drivers to compete in the Club Class category at Oulton Park on Saturday, 5th August. Adrian Dixon (Harpenden, Herts) and Sarah Lambert (Lancaster) will join experienced Formula Renault BARC campaigners Simon Keast and Steve Hanselman with the pair hoping to compete in the six remaining races.
Dixon, 41, gets his first taste of UK single-seater racing having competed in open wheel racing in the USA in recent seasons. Staying in America for his work as a city financier, Dixon won the 2005 Skip Barber Eastern Sportsman title, a ‘slicks and wings’ category run by the famous race school.
Prior to his Championship-winning season, Dixon was a regular at UK
circuits, typically piloting a Porsche. Among his list of achievements
are the runners-up spot in the 1999 924 Championship, top six places in
the 2000 Porsche Cup and class wins in the 2001 Porsche Open in a
Carrera 964 RS. Most recently he has gained class podiums in a 944 in
the Open, including fastest lap in last weekend's one-hour race at
Brands Hatch.
During a recent visit to Silverstone, Dixon tested the Mygale 99 he
will race at Oulton Park with his lap times convincing Muzz Race he
should be competing for a Club Class podium position right away, with
the Cheshire venue among his favourite tracks.
Lambert has experience in the MG Owners Club racing series, winning the
2005 Novice Cup driving an 1800vvc. She will be driving a Tatuus RC97
this weekend as she makes her Formula Renault BARC debut.
