JTG Racing and Kingsford® Charcoal, the sponsor of the #59 Kingsford Charcoal
Ford Fusion race car driven by Marcos Ambrose, today announced a special
promotion and partnership with Rite Aid to benefit Children’s Miracle Network.
During the month of April, Kingsford® will donate $0.25 to Children’s Miracle
Network for every purchase of Kingsford®, Match Light® or Kingsford® Lighter
Fluid products at any Rite Aid store nationwide.
Additionally, the No.
59 Ford Fusion race car driven by Ambrose and his helmet will feature a paint
scheme created by a patient at Levine Children’s Hospital in Charlotte, NC and
will be seen at the May 24 CARQUEST Auto Parts 300 at Lowe’s Motor Speedway.
The helmet will be auctioned off by the race team following the race
with all proceeds benefiting Levine Children’s Hospital.
According to
JTG Racing President Tad Geschickter, the gesture of goodwill never gets old.
“The great thing about being in NASCAR is the opportunity that the
platform gives us to touch other people’s lives,” said Geschickter.
“It’s a great gesture by our partners at Kingsford and Rite Aid. I’m
glad we could be a part of the program.”
The race team will distribute
sheets with a blank car design to the children with the help of the Levine
Children’s Hospital staff.
Representatives of Rite Aid, Levine’s
Children’s Hospital, Kingsford® and JTG Racing will select the winning entry.
The artist of the winning selection will attend the race as a special guest of
the race team.
“Contests like this one are beyond special to me,” said
Marcos Ambrose, driver of the No. 59 Kingsford® Ford Fusion race car in the
NASCAR Nationwide Series.
“I’m very much looking forward to meeting our
winner and I’m excited to see their artwork on the car this May. I love it when
our sponsors get behind programs like Children’s Miracle Network, which is
dedicated to saving and improving the lives of children by supporting children’s
hospitals.
“I plan to do right by my future designer by giving the paint
scheme a shot at Victory Lane - that would be the ultimate thanks, I believe.”
Children’s Miracle Network is an international, non-profit organization
dedicated to saving and improving the lives of children by raising funds for
children’s hospitals. 170 Children’s Miracle Network hospitals serve kids in
