UK Formula Ford Championship leader, Nathan Freke, was joint guest of honour at the Southampton Engineering Training Association awards evening on Thursday 27th July. Nathan accepted the invitation from the Lord Mayor of Southampton to join him in presenting the awards to the Engineering Apprentices who had successfully completed their training in 2006. The presentations to the successful candidates was followed by a question and answer session with Nathan about his racing career and the importance of engineering excellence in Motorsport. ‘I was surprised to be asked to present these very important awards,
but had no hesitation in accepting. It is an honour to present these
newly qualified engineers with their awards after their hard work in
completing the course.’ commented Nathan afterwards.
Nathan will be testing at Knockhill this week in preparation for the UK
Formula Ford races there in early September, the next race in the
series is at Rockingham 12th, 13th August, where Nathan and the Jamun
team will be hoping to continue their winning ways from Snetterton and
Brands Hatch. ‘ ‘We have the best package and have been consistently
quicker than the others in testing and the races – I am really looking
forward to the rest of the season’ says Nathan
