Lincolnshire kart champion Jack Harvey will go
back to the Three Sisters circuit near Wigan next weekend to compete for glory in the
opening round of the KF2 MSA Super One
Championship.
The Alpinestars and Newark Steel backed factory
Birel Motorsport racer took third place in the recent ‘O’ Plate meeting at the
north western venue, which was his first return to the
UK circuits since the Winter Series
back in January.
He is full of confidence as he
heads into the first round of the national series after him and the team learned
a more about the Birel chassis at the previous event. However, the 14-year-old
is also not looking to try and win the championship at the first
event.
“It should be a good meeting
for me,” said Jack. “Although the ‘O’ Plate meeting wasn’t as good as it should
have been for me we learned a lot about the kart and it was good fun racing back
in the UK again too.”
The UK series might not be a full title
campaign for Harvey, with his commitments in
Europe – and later in the season,
Japan – taking priority. However, he is
keen to prove his worth every time he takes to the track and will be once again
be trying to step onto the top step of the podium by Sunday
evening.
“I’m going up to Wigan with the intention of going for
victory, but it’s the beginning of the series and there’s no point in doing
something drastic at this stage of the year. However, if there’s a chance I can
take victory, I will be going for it,” he added.
