This coming
weekend, Kieren Clark, the 19-year-old racing driver from Cambridge, will be
competing at the Rockingham rounds of the popular Formula Renault UK series,
stepping in the footsteps of current formula 1 stars, Lewis Hamilton, Kimi
Raikkonen, and Heikki Kovalainen.
Formula Renault UK is a support race to the incredibly popular British
Touring Car Championship weekend, and huge crowds are expected at the Rockingham Motor Speedway,
near Corby, Northants this weekend
This will be
KC’s 2nd weekend of the fiercely competitive Formula Renault UK series, with an
encouraging finish in the top 10 of his first race at Brands Hatch behind him,
he is hopefully of a good result. “The qualifying at Brands Hatch was a bit of
lottery, but a good grid position is a must in this series. There are a few
overtaking places at Rockingham, but the cars are so evenly matched it can be
tricky.” commented KC. “the banked part
of the track is fun, with the Formula Renaults’ aero package, the G force
really build up, so I’ve been working hard in the gym to make sure I don’t have
any problems during the 2 races on the Sunday.”
Qualifying
will take place on Saturday 12th April and the races will be on Sunday 13th,
All
grandstand seats and access to the paddock are free at Rockingham and children
15 and under get in for free! As well as the thrilling BTCC events, support
races include, Renault Clio’s, Porsche Carrera’s, Ginetta Junior’s and SEAT
Cupra championship.
