With just a few days to go until the
start of the 2008 Formula Palmer Audi season, the final place on this year’s
grid has been snatched up by former T Cars driver Dan
Rozwadowski.
17 year old Dan, from Shamley Green
in Surrey, decided to switch from tin tops to
single-seaters in 2008 after testing a Formula Palmer Audi car at the end of
February. Rozwadowski said: “I performed a
lot better in my test than I thought I would, I actually felt more comfortable
in the FPA car than I ever did in the T Car, which is strange as it’s a
single-seater rather than a saloon!”
Despite having limited time to
prepare, Rozwadowski is confident about his season ahead: “If I can get into the top 15 at Donington Park this weekend I will be happy, but if
I finish last I will have to take it on the chin! I will get faster throughout
the season and I hope to be running in the top 10 by the time we get to the last
race.”
Rozwadowski joins FPA after racing
in T Cars for two years, where he claimed three podiums. He is the second T
Cars graduate to switch to Formula Palmer Audi in 2008, as reigning champion
Daniel Brown has already signed along with his brother, former Renault Clio Cup
driver Robert.
Other Formula Palmer Audi
competitors who began their career racing in T Cars include Jolyon Palmer and
Alex Brundle, both of whom are entering their second season in the championship
as frontrunners for the drivers’ title.
“I raced in T
Cars with Brundle, Palmer and Dan Brown,” added
Rozwadowski. “All of them have gone on to
do FPA, now it’s my turn.”
The 2008 Formula
Palmer Audi Championship begins at Donington Park this weekend (12/13 April), before
moving onto Brands Hatch to support the A1GP World Cup of Motorsport on 2/3/4
May. For more information visit www.formula-palmer-audi.com.
