GP2: RACE 2 – HOCKENHEIM, GERMANY
Great Britain’s Adam Carroll starts tomorrow’s Sprint race from the 3rd
on the grid after finishing today’s Feature event in 6th.
A blistering start saw the 23 year old move from 12th on the grid to
7th by the end of lap one. And the pit-stop was equally quick with Adam
coming in from 6th position on lap 14. By the half way point Carroll
had put his car into 5th position but after a tough battle with old
British F3 rival Nelson Piquet Jr, that place was lost. At the end of
the 40 laps Carroll finished 6th securing 3nd place for tomorrow’s
shorter race.
Adam Carroll: “That was pretty hard work out there today. I made a good
start and was happy with the way everything was going. Throughout the
race the car had lots of grip on the rear but was very difficult to
steer at the front – I had so much under-steer and was therefore really
slow at the apex of the corners and all the other guys could make up so
much ground on me.
“Tomorrow should be good from 3rd. It is so important to get a good start and hopefully I’ll be back on the podium.”

Sunday 30 July 1000-1045 Race 2 - Sprint
Hockenheimring 2.84 miles (4.57k)
Hockeheim is a still a favourite with many drivers, despite it resembling little of the former ‘classic’
track after safety changes meant dramatic reductions to both the layout, speed and length of the
circuit.
