Australian Formula Ford Management Pty Ltd today announced that all rounds of the 2007 national championship will be telecast on the Seven Network, as part of V8 Supercar Australia's newly announced television package.

Although Championship round dates are yet to be finalised, it was also confirmed today that the national Formula Ford series will be one of the regular support categories on the V8 Supercar Championship Series bill in 2007.

"V8 Supercars Australia is pleased to confirm Formula Ford's continued place on our support category program and its part in the new Seven Network television coverage," CEO Wayne Cattach said.

Long considered the country's premier development ground for motor racing's stars of the future, the Australian Formula Ford Championship will be raced over eight rounds in 2007.

"Formula Ford is the prime feeder category for both drivers and technical people for the V8 Supercar category, so it's a mutually-beneficial partnership," category manager Margaret Hardy said.

"Now that we have confirmed our 2007 program and the television coverage, our attention has turned to making the most of the commercial opportunities so that we can generate the sponsorship to support the program.

"We're working hard on that right now and the signs are good."

Hardy predicted fields of "twenty plus" Formula Fords for every national championship round next season.

"There's a lot of interest already and I am sure the announcement we've made today will help . we'd love to get 25 cars on the grid at most rounds."

Details of the 2007 Australian Formula Ford Championship calendar will be announced at a later date
