prepares for A1GP battle of the nations at Brands
Hatch

With the England football team out of Euro 2008, the A1GP
‘World Cup of Motorsport’ could be Great Britain’s only chance to shine
on the international sporting stage this summer. Brands Hatch in Kent
will host the season finale in 10 days’ time (2/3/4 May) with Robbie Kerr
representing the home nation.

In celebration of St George’s Day, Brands Hatch is encouraging the people of
England to get behind their home
nation for the A1GP series finale. This week, Robbie Kerr took the Team GBR car
to St Katharine’s Dock by one of London’s most
iconic venues – Tower Bridge – to stir some patriotic
spirit.
Kerr said: “I’m very proud to be English and to represent
Great
Britain in A1GP. It doesn’t matter where I go
in the world, England is my home and I love to come
back here,”
The English driver has already made
A1GP history, as he became the first driver ever to win a race on home soil when
he took victory at Brands Hatch in 2007. Robbie hopes that plenty of local
support will help him to repeat that success in
2008:
Kerr added: “It’s great to be back at Brands Hatch as we always
receive tremendous support from the crowd. It was wonderful to win on home soil
last year and I’m hoping this year we can go one better and win both the Sprint
and Feature race.”
Celebrations for the A1GP World Cup
of Motorsport season finale begin on Sunday 27 April with a special Regent Street ‘Pit
Stop’. As part of the festivities, fans will be able to purchase tickets for
the main event at Brands Hatch the following weekend (2/3/4 May).
Tickets for the
A1GP World Cup of Motorsport season finale at Brands Hatch on 2 / 3 / 4 May cost
from £29 for adults, with free entry for children aged 12 and under. For more
