IRWIN Industrial Tools offers WA's Ultimate Tradesman the chance to win US$1.26 million PDF Print E-mail
Monday, 05 May 2008
Race fans attending the Bipond 400 V8 Supercar Championship Round at Perth’s Barbagallo Raceway will have a chance to win up to US$1.26 million at the IRWIN Industrial Tools Ultimate Tradesman Challenge.
It won't just be cars racing against the clock as IRWIN invites tradies and gun DIYers to test their skills in an effort to be crowned the country's Ultimate Tradesman and be in the running to win US$1.26 million.

The Ultimate Tradesman Challenge requires competitors to measure, mark and drill a piece of wood, using IRWIN tools as quickly and accurately as possible. IRWIN, which has a long international history with racing, has already put IRWIN Racing V8 supercar driver, Marcus Marshall to the test.

"I posted a time of just over 26 seconds in the Ultimate Tradesman Challenge and challenge tradesman and racing fans from WA to beat my time."

"Speed and precision are essential for success when we're on the track and contestants in the IRWIN Ultimate Tradesman Challenge will need both of these attributes to be successful and win", Marcus said.

Perth is the third round of the Ultimate Tradesman Challenge following events at the Clipsal 500 in Adelaide and the Hamilton 400 in New Zealand.

The winner from the Barbagallo Raceway event will score a $1000 shopping voucher for IRWIN products and a trip to Bathurst to compete in the Ultimate Tradesman Challenge play off. The winner of New Zealand and Australia’s Ultimate Tradesman Challenge will win a trip for themselves and a friend to the USA. There they will compete in the International Tradesman Challenge on November 9, in Phoenix USA where they have the chance to become a millionaire.

IRWIN Managing Director, Nick Pritchard, has urged tradesman and DIYers alike to get behind the Ultimate Tradesman Challenge.

"We have created the Ultimate Tradesman Challenge to share our passion for tools and accessories with tradesman and DIYers around Australia and New Zealand in a fun and unique way."

"Similar to that of a successful race team, innovation and performance are two hallmarks of IRWIN and these are reflected in the Challenge."

"You don't have to be a professional tradesman to enter. If you feel you are handy with tools then head to the Bigpond 400 and give it a go. What better incentive than the potential to win over $US1 million dollars”.

IRWIN tools featured in the Challenge are the IRWIN Strait-Line tape measure, IRWIN Chalk Reel and the IRWIN Speedbor Max drill bit. For further information on the Ultimate Tradesman Challenge and IRWIN products visit www.irwintools.com.au.
