Perez In The Points On Swansea Bay Rally |

VK Vodka Kick Rally Driver Steve Perez emerged from the Swansea Bay National Rally in fifth place overall after a hectic day in the South Wales forests which comprised round five of the MSA Gravel Rally Championship.
Along with Cumbrian co driver Scott Martin, the pair overcame the hot and humid conditions and dusty stages to bring the ex Dani Sola Ford Focus WRC 05 home just over a minute behind the eventual winners Marcus Dodd and Andrew Bargery (Hyundai Accent WRC).
But with one of the crews in front of the 2004 ANCRO Champion not being registered for points, the Clay Cross businessman scored a valuable 19 points towards his 2006 championship bid but having missed the last round of the series due to competing in the Barbados Rally Carnival and crashing out of the round previous in the Isle of Man, Perez’s chances of reclaiming his title are almost nil meaning he may now decide to sit out the rest of the series.
“I’m so sure I enjoyed that as the conditions were just not very nice
what with the heat and especially the dust which made driving at any
sort of pace almost impossible. The championship is just about over and
I’ve yet to decide whether I continue or not but the way it is looking
is that I’ll probably miss the next round in Scotland and then decide
what I’m going to do next season” said Steve
The next round of the Championship takes place with the Park Systems
Stages Rally in South West Scotland in September which forms the
penultimate round of the ANCRO Rally Championship.
