Historic Virginia International Raceway, about which Carroll Shelby said," one lap here is like 100 at Watkins Glen," is the stage for round four of the V8 StockCar Road Racing Series.
Running with the North Carolina Region SCCA at their Al Fairer SARRC Races, the V8 StockCar group will make the hills surrounding the course reverberate with the sound of more than thirty highly tuned V8 time machines. V.I.R., internationally acclaimed as one the world's most beautiful and challenging racing circuits, with twelve turns in its' 3.27 miles, two long straights, 130 foot of elevation change and twisting technical sections, is a test, even for the most talented and daring. Some of club racing's finest will be there, including former Grand Am Champion DAVE MACHAVERN in his C6 Corvette, built and prepared by road racing legend Tommy Riggins, 2007, V.I.R. race winner, SCOTT MURPHY in his fast V8 GT-1 C6 Corvette, SPEED World Challenge Touring star CHIP HERR, in hi! s series debut in a Monte Carlo stock car, three time ARRC champ, BRYAN DOBYNS, in a V8 GTA class stock car, 2008 V8 GTA points leader, TONY AMICO, 2007 V8 GTA Champion, JAY MARSHALL, multi time SCCA SARRC Champ BILL SMITH, former ARCA & NASCAR racer BOB SCHACHT, and more.......
