Irish fans meet their hero! |

Dublin, Ireland, 8th May 2008: As Belmayne A1 Team Ireland and Adam Carroll prepared for action on the track – Irish fans flocked to Brands Hatch on Sunday to support their nation in the A1GP 2007/08 season finale.
Last month, Team Ireland launched a competition to find the most dedicated fan and were on the look out for Irish displays on Sunday morning. The quantity of tricolours flying in the grandstand brought a real home-feel to the UK round of the A1GP World Cup of Motorsport. The lucky winners that were plucked from the crowd were Kim Wilson and best friend Julie Richards, who were given a prize that money can’t buy.
The duo had a visit to the team garage and grid access prior to the afternoons Feature race where they met race driver Adam Carroll and savoured the atmosphere as the countdown to the race neared its conclusion.
Kim Wilson said, “I’ve had a great time today. It’s been fantastic and means so much to be chosen to go on the grid! We really enjoyed the whole experience but the highlight for us was definitely our grid visit - it's something we will remember for a very long time! It was so nice to be able to see all the action close up and really feel like we were part of it all - thanks to everyone for that opportunity.
“I enjoy F1 but it is such a 'sterile' environment compared with A1GP where we are encouraged to meet the drivers, get autographs and photos. People actually have the time to chat and laugh with you whilst they are preparing for their busy day. They remember how important the fans are to the sport too.”
Julie Richards continued: “We met Adam last week at the Regent Street Pit Stop so it’s great to be here today to be able to support him. It’s the first time I’ve been to an A1GP event and it’s fantastic - I can’t wait to come to another!”
