Lincolnshire kart racer, Jack Harvey, heads to
his home circuit of PF International this weekend as he aims to make another
step towards the British Super One KF2
Championship.
The Newark Steel backed youngster goes into the
meeting aiming to bounce back from what turned out to be a frustrating weekend
at the Lonato circuit in Italy, where he suffered from mechanical issues. He
currently lies tenth in the Super One Championship and knows that a good pair of
point-scoring races on his home turf will put him in contention for the
UK title.
“It was a frustrating weekend in
Italy as I had high hopes of stepping
onto the podium,” said Jack. “I was fastest in the first two heats, but had a
problem with the kart mid-way through the second one and after that we couldn’t
seem to get back into the same place.
“I’m putting it behind me
though as I can’t wait to get to my home track and race there. I’ve always run
well at PFi and I’m going out with exactly the same determination that I always
do. I want to win again,” he added.
With the British series just a few days away,
Jack also has his eye on heading into new territory, as he heads to
Japan for the very first time in just
over a week to race in the Asia Pacific
Championship.
“I can’t wait to go out to
Japan and race over there,” he said.
“It’s going to be another brand new experience for me and I want to go out and
take another top result. I know that it will be a hard task as the best in the
world will be competing, but if everything goes my way then there is no reason
why I can’t take my turn on the top step of the podium,” he
added.
Jack will take to the circuit
on Saturday morning for qualifying and practice, with the heats and finals
taking place on Sunday.
