NEW WORLD RECORD SET, MULITPLE AUSTRALIAN RECORDS BROKEN AND TWO FIVE SECOND PASSES IN QUICKEST EVER TOP DOORSLAMMER FIELD - WITH ONE MORE QUALIFYING RUN SCHEDULED FOR THIS AFTERNOON
The second run of qualifying for Group One has more than delivered with a new world record, a new record for the fastest Australian side-by-side doored pass and two 'five' second passes set by the quickest Top Doorslammer field in Australian history.
Please see below for a run-down of the feats achieved during today's Top Doorslammer qualifying - with perfect conditions and one more qualifying run to go more records are set to be smashed and that bump spot (last qualifying spot available) is set to change.
- World's fastest (mph) doored car pass: Gary Phillips - 6.07second, 249.86mph (402.2746kmh)
- First time in Australian drag racing a sedan car has breached 400km/h: Gary Phillips, 402.2746kmh
