Stuart Bishop Racing’s Cody Grohn has taken his maiden event win at the Castrol EDGE Winternationals in the Junior Dragster category aboard his Wallace Bishop Jewellers Junior Jem.
The 15 year-old from Bundaberg clinched his maiden win by running a 8.762 second pass at 74.28mph (118.84kmh) over Brooke Chin, following on from his recent finals-appearance at the 2008 Australian Junior Dragster Titles in Sydney in April.
“This is great, I am really happy - this has been a great weekend,” said Grohn.
“I want to thank Stuart Bishop for everything he has done for me, my dad (Dave Grohn), Stuart’s son Alexander who helps me all day with everything and stages my car, Wayne Jones, Roo, Jeff and everyone else on the SBR crew – thank you so much.”
Grohn made his way through a field of 67 Junior Dragsters to be able to take the win this evening at Willowbank Raceway.
Stuart Bishop Racing are next expected at their home-track Willowbank Raceway in September for the 2008 Spring Top Fuel Championships.
