2006 British Formula
Ford Champion, Nathan Freke, will step back into a Duratec engined Formula Ford
car for the first time since his championship winning year this week. He has
been invited to test and race an Aquila for Danish team Fukamuni Racing as their
regular driver is on holiday.
he regular driver is the son of ex Mclaren
Formula One driver Jan Magnussen and the car is leading the Danish Formula Ford
series. The team manager Jesper Carlsen approached Nathan a few weeks ago to ask
if he would be interested in testing and racing in Denmark to give the team a
view on the car and some technical feedback. The team also wanted Nathan to race
at the recent meeting at Spa against the UK and Benelux Ford competitors, but
unfortunately prior commitments meant that he was unable to
compete.
"I am really looking
forward to the week in Denmark with the team and it is nice to be recognised as
someone a team will turn to when they are looking for a test driver for their
car. It will be a bit slower than the Indy Lights car I drove earlier this year,
but it will be good to get back into a single seat race car. " commented
Nathan
We are currently
seeking funding to compete for the rest of 2008 and for a number of options in
either a top level sports car / endurance drive or single seater series for
2009.
